The Art of Simple Sabotage

(Archived from cia.gov)

The rascally spies of OSS knew a thing or two about mischief making, especially when it came to undermining America’s enemies in World War II. One of their more imaginative ideas was to train everyday citizens in the art of simple sabotage.

Thus, the “Simple Sabotage Field Manual” was born.

This previously classified booklet describes ways to train normal people to be purposely annoying telephone operators, dysfunctional train conductors, befuddling middle managers, blundering factory workers, unruly movie theater patrons, and so on.

In other words, teaching people to do their jobs badly.

OSS Director William “Wild Bill” Donovan had select parts of the manual declassified and disseminated to citizens of enemy states through pamphlets, targeted radio broadcasts, and in person.

While the guidebook does contain ideas for serious, hardcore sabotage you’d expect during wartime, there are many timeless (and dare we say all-too-familiar) tactics that could drive even the most sane person batty.

Here’s a list of five particularly timeless tips from the “Simple Sabotage Field Manual”:

Telephone:
At the office, hotel, or local telephone switchboards, delay putting calls through, give out wrong numbers, cut people off “accidentally,” or forget to disconnect them so that the line cannot be used again.
Movie Theater Patrons:
To ruin everyone’s time at the movies (without a cell phone, that is) bring in a paper bag filled with two or three dozen large moths. Open the bag and set it in an empty section of the theater. “The moths will fly out and climb into the projector beam, so that the film will be obscured by fluttering shadows.”
Supervisors:
To lower morale and production, think of the worst boss you’ve had and act like that. Be pleasant to inefficient workers; give them undeserved promotions. Discriminate against efficient workers; complain unjustly about their work. When possible, refer all matters to committees for “further study and consideration.” Attempt to make the committees as large and bureaucratic as possible.
Employees:
Be forgetful. Clumsy. Work slowly. Think of ways to increase the number of movements needed to do your job: use a light hammer instead of a heavy one; try to make a small wrench do instead of a big one.
Transportation:
Make train or air travel as inconvenient as possible. One particularly effective trick: issue two tickets for the same seat on a train in order to set up an “interesting” argument.

Rise. Roar. Resist!

Resistance, a minute or two at a time. Spontaneous, petty and effective.

STOP the Laken Riley Act (S.5)

The Laken Riley Act threatens civil liberties, justice, and vulnerable communities:

❌ Expands Mandatory Detention: Targets people for minor offenses—even without charges or convictions—risking years of detention.
❌ Violates Due Process: Denies individuals the right to bond hearings or to present their case.
❌ Harms Families: Sweeps up longtime residents, children, and DACA recipients, tearing families apart.
❌ Wastes Resources: Empowers frivolous lawsuits and benefits private prisons, not public safety.
❌ Discriminatory Impact: Risks racial disparities and disproportionately affects people in poverty.

What can you do? As soon as possible, demand your Senators vote NO on this dangerous bill. The bill will go to a vote soon!

🛑 Protect civil rights.
🛑 Protect families.
🛑 Protect due process.

🛡️ Preparing to Counter Disinformation 🛡️

People use the Four D’s of Oppression—divide, distract, demoralize, and delay—to sow chaos and avoid accountability. Here’s how you can avoid falling into their traps:

✨ Practice a Disciplined Response:
• Recognize when your good intentions are being weaponized.
• Don’t let your bad habits amplify their lies.
• Avoid spreading disinformation—even to criticize or joke about it.

🌟 Lead with Values & Be Intentional:
• Engage purposefully. Limit the time and energy you give to negativity.
• Focus on building positive, truthful narratives.

Together, we can stay grounded and resist manipulation. 💪

Merging the state and corporate power

Guidelines for this new world

1. Don't use his name; EVER (45 will do); He’s Voldemort from now on
2. Remember we’re dealing with a regime and he's not acting alone; When you post or talk about him, don't assign his actions to him, but to the ”Republicans,” denying him the personal attention he craves and correctly assigning overall responsibility
3. Do not argue with those who support him—it doesn't work
4. Focus on his policies and their effects, not his tangerine glow and his mental state
5. Keep your words positive; they want people to be angry and fearful because that environment allows enables them
6. No more helpless or hopeless talk
7. Support artists, the arts and culture
8. Be careful not to spread fake news; Always double-check the source and think about what motivate the message
9. Take care of yourselves
10. Resist!

Speaker Johnson moves to block release of ethics report on Matt Gaetz

Mike Johnson said the quiet part out loud:

“I’m going to strongly request the Ethics Committee not issue the report because that is not the way we do things in the House, and I think that would be a terrible precedent,”

Ethical behavior in the House would set a precedent flying in the face of two centuries of behavior.

Call Mike Johnson at 202-225-2777 to encourage him to release the report.

The audio recording, likely from a dystopian society, advises listeners to be cautious about their actions and communications. It highlights the dangers of anonymity, using the example of employee surveys where seemingly anonymous feedback can be traced back to specific individuals. The speaker warns against expressing dissent or criticism openly, emphasizing the importance of remaining inconspicuous and blending in to avoid repercussions.

An open letter to my California Senators, Alex Padilla and Adam Schiff

Being party to the unanimous confirmation of Marco Rubio as Secretary of State is an unforgivable act of complicity on this day when 47 pardons 1500 J6 rioters and the muskrat gives nazi salutes. Your actions don't fill me with hope for resisting fascism in the coming years.

My verdict on 47; day one
